Many people come into the clinic feeling tight, stiff, sore, or like their body just isn’t moving the way it used to. Sometimes it’s from long hours sitting at a desk, stress and tension building up over time, exercise soreness, pregnancy-related changes, or simply the physical demands of everyday life.
Dry needling is one of the techniques I may use as part of a tailored treatment approach to help relieve muscle tension and improve movement.
Dry needling (also known as musculoskeletal acupuncture) involves placing very fine sterile, single use needles into tight or irritated muscles and trigger points. The aim is to help reduce muscle tension, improve movement, and encourage the body’s natural healing response.
People often find it helpful for:
tight neck and shoulders
tension headaches
lower back tightness
sore hips and glutes
postural tension from desk work
exercise and gym soreness
pregnancy-related muscle tension
ongoing stiffness and restricted movement
those knots you can’t seem to get rid of
One of the things I love most about using dry needling is seeing people start to move more freely again — whether that’s being able to exercise with more confidence, get through the workday more comfortably, or simply relax at night without discomfort constantly sitting in the background.
Every treatment is tailored to the individual. Some people benefit from dry needling alongside chiropractic care, movement advice, and exercises, while others may not need it at all.
If you’re unsure whether dry needling may be suitable for you, feel free to ask during your appointment.
